D5: The combined ranking medalists
Sean McColl (CAN) takes the gold of the combined ranking for the 3rd time in a row. On the women side, Elena Krasovskaia (RUS) wins.
Sean McColl is definitly the stronger on the combined ranking. After Paris in 2012, Gijon and Munich in 2014, the Canadian takes a new world title in these discipline. With a 6th rank in lead climbing, a 14th rank in the bouldering competition and the 38th performance in speed climbing, he stands for the 3rd time in a row on the highest step of the podium.
Behind him, Manu Cornu brings a second medal to the French team. After the bronze in the bouldering competition (51th in lead, 3rd in bouldering, 32th in speed), he finishes 2nd of the combined ranking. The German David Firnenburg takes the bronze (23th in lead, 49th in bouldering, 44th in speed).
On the women side, the young climber Elena Krasovskaia takes the benefits of her incredible performance in bouldering to bring back home the gold medal of the combined ranking (29th in lead, 6th in bouldering, 20th in speed). The US climber Claire Buhrfeind (7th in lead, 41th in bouldering, 24th in speed) takes silver and the French Charlotte Durif, the bronze.
